Old railroad depot

Once upon a time in the late 1800’s existed an old railroad depot in the small town of Alief. As the town grew, so did the surroundings and soon Alief became a main suburb of the greater Houston area.  As the time passed the need for railroads declined less and less, thanks to the use of mass production and automobiles becoming the main type of transport in the 20th century.  The railroad depot was soon abandoned and the land was acquired by Harris County and made to a park to what is now known as Amity, however to the locals that hoop there, this place is known as “the jungle.”
