Today was the 3rd stop of Le Tour de Houston at the parking lot of the Pentecostals of West Houston Church. This location was suggested by a member of the Houston Streetball group named Clifton Boudreux. We were originally going to play inside the gym that is inside the church but because of renovation being done to the floor, we had to improvise and play on the parking lot.
Clifton had bought some sidewalk chalk and drew regulation size full court lines as well as the three point lines, I tried later to retouch them to the best of my ability but there was some weird spots that I drew. We decided to use the next tracker and use team next to get the games going and first to twelve. We had plenty of water to go around since the sun was still pretty strong beating down on the pavement.
We had about 25+ people show up today and it was a definitely good turn out considering the fact that we never had heard about this location prior but we had some good friendly competition. We definitely will be out again sometime in the near future and hopefully be able to ball inside the gym when we do the “le tour de houston gym edition” featuring nothing but gyms.
I want to thank everyone that came out from Charlton Park to represent, Marcel Rivers and Jermaine Allen from Blossom Heights Park, Deonte Morris and Xavier who came out from Katy, Chris Silva and his friends, Josh Struble, and the locals Snoopy Williams and Clifton Boudreaux who helped set the goals up and be awesome hosts.
The next stop is Agnes Park this upcoming Tuesday from 7pm to 10pm. See you there
