Today we hit up the Judson Recreation Center as our prestigous Le Tour de Houston comes to a close. Open play at this location is only during the morning and so we didn’t have that many hoopers but it wasn’t a bad thing as I got to play many games today and get a really good work out.
Tomorrow I will be participating in the NBA Rockets 3vs3 blacktop challenge and my friends who I have known since high school stopped by today to get some games in. We played a 21 in the very beginning and even won the first game when we played full court.
At this location if theres plenty of people, the park organizer organizes the games by a team next, meaning that someone who has next can’t keeping the same players up and will require the next 5 to play on a game, which is a good thing because this means you literally have to wait a long time if you don’t get picked up again. Games were 10 minutes each, whoever has the most points win. This wasn’t a bad setup however the organizer started losing track on points and eventually everybody quit towards the end since the organizer lost control of the situation.
I met a lot of new hoopers today and of course this tour is about playing at different venues and meeting new people. I want to thank Chris Uno, Lance Johnson, Jesus “Jebuz” Acevedo, Hugo Melgoza for coming out who are regulars in our group for stopping by today and making this last stop fun. This first edition was definitely fun and will be looking forward to creating another tour after April, keep tuned and remember, if there’s no blood, it’s not a foul, #houstonstreetball
